The most able and experienced business people can find the day to day running of a business to be a demanding experience, full of risk, danger and diversion. This is challenging enough but a totally different set of skills are required in undertaking an acquisition, business sale or a merger - and in getting it right. The odd mistake or misjudgement in running a business can be corrected or overcome but when it comes to buying, selling or merging, you may only get one chance.

  • Buying a business
The process of acquiring a business, whether by way of MBO, MBI or acquisition for expansion, can be fraught, the traps and pitfalls being wide and varied.
  • Selling your business
Many vendors are entrepreneurs who have spent years building their own business. The ultimate sale of the business may be the first and only occasion you have ever been through the sales process, often dealing with a much more experienced buyer who has been through the acquisition process many times before.
  • Merging for growth
With careful construction, two plus two can equal five. However, whilst the upside can be significant, the downside can be calamitous, with unsuited parties, having to work unhappily together or untangling the mess.

We take a tailored approach to helping our clients achieve their objectives, whilst sorting out the problems. Our directors, irrespective of the deal size, will handle all issues relating to the assignment.

Our skilled, professionally qualified and highly experienced M&A team is there to help take each transaction from initial meeting to completion. We are supported, where necessary, by fellow professionals in the UK and across our own network through over twenty countries.

Inevitably, there will be many hurdles along the way that may appear to be deal breakers or create stalemate. Our team have seen and worked through these scenarios many times before and will work to overcome these obstacles.

In terms of fees, we work on a combination of fixed and contingent fees, depending upon the nature of the transaction undertaken.
